How Acquired: Selected by the Revolution in the sixth round (56th overall) of the 2004 MLS SuperDraft
Dorman enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2006, establishing himself as one of the league's top midfielders ... a true student of the game, he displayed the ability to thrive at several different midfield slots in Steve Nicol's starting team, including stints as the wide right, attacking and holding midfielder … demonstrates an exemplary work rate … Soccer America named Dorman the third-best attacking midfielder in MLS for 2006.
2006: Established new career highs and was voted the Midnight Riders' Man of the Year in his best professional season to date. Recorded six goals and a team-high 10 assists - both totals that surpassed his career totals entering the season - while starting all 32 games and playing every midfield position. His 10 assists were the second-highest total in MLS behind five players with 11. Played a career-high 2,834 minutes to rank sixth in MLS. Was also ranked fifth in the league in shots on goal (33). Had three game-winning assists and three times scored game-tying goals: vs. Chivas USA on May 13, at Chicago on June 11 and vs. D.C. on June 17. Started all four of the Revs' MLS Cup Playoffs matches, and assisted on Taylor Twellman's goal against Chicago in the second game of the Eastern Conference Semifinal.
2005: Increased his playing time five-fold from his rookie campaign, starting 19 games and appearing in a total of 30 regular season matches. Equaled goals output from 2004 with two and registered five assists. Became the Revs go-to corner kick taker when José Cancela was not on the field.
2004: Dorman bided his time as a squad player before establishing himself as a "super sub" in the latter part of the campaign when 18 of Dorman's 20 regular season appearances were as a sub. Finished seventh on the team in scoring (two goals, one assists, five points) despite playing just 365 minutes.
COLLEGE: Was a four-year player at Boston University (2000-03) … was a three-time All-New England and three-time all-conference honoree … left the program holding the career assist record (37), and ranked fourth in the category as a senior with a 0.71 assists per game mark … his 13 assists as a junior ranked second in school history for single-season production … concluded his collegiate career ranked seventh in school history in overall scoring with 81 points (22 goals, 37 assists).
